A 65-year-elderly man, Obi Nwoda, was reported dead in the early hours of Sunday in a guess inn in Awka, the Anambra State capital, after an alleged sex romp with a 34-year-old woman. The lady, who was said to have been arrested by the police, was affirmed to have camped with the man for two days in the inn. A source in the lodging, who asked not to be named, told our reporter, “The man had been here for two days with different young ladies visiting him before the unfortunate incident took place. We suspect that he was a businessman.” Efforts by Southern City News to get further information from the lodging couldn’t yield any outcome as the workers said their register was taken by the police some days before the incident occurred. They maintained that they would not speak further on the issue and demanded that the case had been reported at the B-Division, Awka. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, affirmed the incidence. He gave the age of the deceased as 65, and the age of the lady as 34.
Mohammed said both of them came from a same area to lodge at the inn. He expressed, “There was a report by the management of the inn in Agu, Awka at the ‘B’ Division that on a same date at about 5pm, one Ifeoma Ayinka, 34 years of age of Agu Ukwu in Anaocha LGA, who came to lodge in the inn with one Obi Nwoda ‘M’ matured 65 years of a similar location, was leaving the inn premises without the man and when confronted and taking back to the inn room, they discovered that the man was lying on the bed unconscious. “Upon receipt of the grievance, the scene was visited by police watch group connected to ‘B’ Division led by the DPO, Odion Ekeinde, and the unfortunate casualty was rushed to the Apex Hospital, Awka, where he was affirmed dead on arrival.” The PPRO said the body of the diseased had been deposited in a morgue for autopsy.
