Man caught selling human eyeball for N250,000 in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has arrested Shuaibu Ibrahim,35, of Safiu village in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State with a human eyeball.
As indicated by the police report, operatives attached to the Gawu Babangida Division in Gurara Local Government Area arrested Ibrahim. It was discovered that the police operatives apprehended the suspect in the early hours of Thursday following a tip-off a member from public. The eyeball was said to have been removed from a victim of a communal conflict between the Igbira and Bassa people in Nasarawa State. Northern news men gathered that one Ojo, now at large, reportedly gave the eyeball to the suspect to sell in Niger State for N250,000. Further checks revealed that the suspect had been involved in the illegal trafficking of human parts across the northern states for more than five years. The suspect told our journalist that he was the middle person among Ojo and his clients, who were buyer of human parts. Ibrahim stated, “My obligation is to convey human parts given to me by Ojo to his clients over the northern states. We profit in this business yet I can’t tell what the buyers are utilizing the parts for.
“Many individuals are interested in buying human parts however I don’t know what they utilize them for. My obligation is to convey as and when because of our customers and collect the cash. “I don’t ask clients what they are utilizing the human eyeballs for, yet I guess it must be something serious.” The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, who affirmed the arrest of the Nasarawa State indigene, said police agents arrested the suspect in the receiving of credible information from a member of the public. He said the suspect would be charged to court after the completion of police investigation.
