Petroleum Tanker Crash, 6 Dead, 19 Houses Burnt
No fewer than six people have died after a petrol lorry crashed into a block of homes in Southern Vietnam on Thursday, setting them alight, state media reported.
The tanker, which was driving on National Highway 13, collided upon a motorbike rickshaw in Chon Thanh region of Binh Phuoc province and upset after hitting a power pole, the Vnexpress news site reported. The spilled fuel burst into flames and consumed 19 homes while inhabitants were still sleeping. Six were accounted dead, and handfuls harmed with serious burns. The articulated vehicle’s driver suffered serious burns while the rickshaw driver got minor wounds. Police are investigating the reason for the incidence.
