Three persons lost their lives, while 24 others were hospitalized in an accident involving a truck loaded with cows along the Kalgo-Jega Road in Kebbi State, North west Nigeria.
An eyewitness, Saidu Ibrahim, told newsmen that the accident was as a result of burst tyre.
He said the truck, which was also loaded with other goods and passengers, somersaulted when there was a tyre blow out
“The driver suddenly lost control of the truck while he was trying to stop it when the tyre bursts. The driver cabin got separated from the main body and rammed to the ground,” he explained.
The Public Relations Officer, Federal Roads Safety Corps in the state, Abdullahi Muhammad, confirmed the accident, saying the injured were rushed to the Medical Centre, Kalgo.
He stated, “Three persons died on the spot, while 24 others were rushed to the hospital; we also recorded the death of seven cows”.
