According to the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), based in Rome, Italy, youths (15-24years old) constituted a large percentage (37 percent) of the un-employed population in 2014, a figure that certainly has not changed, consequently about 70 percent of them live on about two US dollars a day.
The statement was made at the inauguration of the United Nations Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth; FAO said the initiative is meant to promote employment opportunities for young people in agriculture and rural economy.
