As part of the University’s major plan to bridge the Human Resource gaps in Tanzania’s Health sector, the Aga khan University (AKU), Tanzania opened a new State-of the-art Fertility Centre worth Sh2.95 billion in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with support of Sh42 billion grants from the German Development Cooperation.

This is meant to train nurses and mid wives up to degree level.

 

During the opening ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, Dr. Hamisi Kigwagala said that the Government plans to hire about 10,000 health workers before the end of the financial year, to team up with the current work force in order to strengthen health service in Tanzania
