a severe earthquake hit Taiwan this morning near the town of Tainam. A 17-storey apartment building collapsed leading to several casualties.
Though only a magnitude of 6.4, 14 persons have died, 300 injured and several others are missing.
Taiwan is prone to earthquakes, more severe quakes happened in 1999 and 1935.
