According to the 5th Demographic and Health Survey released by the National Institute of Statistics, Rwanda, there have been positive changes in various health indicators such as fertility level, family planning, nutrition, childhood and maternal mortality, HIV/AIDS prevalence, breastfeeding practice, sexual activity, malaria prevalence, immunization level among others over the last decade.
There has also been an overall improvement in Rwanda’s health as total women fertility has dropped from 6.1 percent in 2010 to 4.2 in 2014/2015.
