A cabinet minister has revealed that the Gweru provincial hospital, Zimbabwe has received a mere U.S$3,000 out of U.S$460,000 allocated to the province by the minister of finance.
The Health and Childcare Minister, David Paririenyatwa said this during a tour of the hospital last week and added that the U.S$3,000 out of U.S$460.000 allocated to the provincial hospital is unacceptable and that late disbursement of fund to health institutions affects operation.
In a related development, Dr. David Paririenyatwa has said that Government hospitals in the country require 8,000 nurses if they are effectively respond to the growing demand for healthcare in the country during the handover of an ambulance donated to Chivhu hospital by the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce.
