A $300,000 (about Shs 1b) campaign funded by Action Aid, an international NGO and Spring Uganda, a local NGO aimed at fighting malnutrition has been launched in Namutumba district, Uganda.
The campaign against malnutrition which was launched last week during a function held at Nzinze sub-county headquarters provides children between the ages of 23 months and six years with free Micro-nutrient powders.
The Chief of Party, Spring Uganda, Mr. Manohr Shenoy said that the district has the highest cases of malnutrition in Uganda and that the powders distributed are rich in Vitamin A, B, B2, B12 and folic acid which will increase the nutritional quality of children’s diet.
