Nigeria: JCI Provides Free Medical Service, Drugs to Lagos Communities
As part of its efforts at improving the health of vulnerable children, women, and the aged in poor communities in Lagos, Junior Chamber International, Lagos yesterday, provided free medical services and drugs to residents of Ifako Ijaiye, in Ifako Ijaiye local government of Lagos State.
Tagged “Project Smile”, the programme, which is the brainchild of JCI Lagos, in affiliation with JCI international, was run in line with the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), now renamed Sustainable development Goals objectives on health. Vice President JCI Lagos, Laolu Owolabi, explained that the organization adopted the programme in the last five years to intervene in the area of health by bringing in doctors, pharmacists, and nutritionists to communities.
