According to data from medical journal, The Lancet and the World Bank, it is recorded that Nigeria has the world’s highest rate of stillbirths after Pakistan as more than 300,000 stillbirths were recorded last year, while about one in every 120 women dies during childbirth.
Ahead of the West African Nation’s First Global Conference in Midwifery, a leading women’s Right activist has said that investing in an Army of midwives across Nigeria will cut the number of stillbirths and women dying during and after giving birth.
