The most antibiotic resistant bacteria known to man have arrived the shores of the United States of America according to the United States Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.
The bacteria, E. Coli were picked up in the urine of a Pennsylvania woman who reported at a hospital, the bacteria were found resistant to the highest antibiotic in called colistin; efforts are being made to trace any of her contacts for purpose of testing them.
According to the U.S. CDC, about 2 million persons are affected by antibiotic resistant bacteria annually in the US with about 23,000 deaths.
Fortunately for this woman, she was treated for her ailment and discharged, the E. Coli apparently did not bring her to the hospital.
