As part of Uganda’s effort to realize a polio-free country, the Masaka district, Uganda, health officer, Dr. Stuart Musisi said the Ministry of Health is yet to introduce a new injectable polio vaccine-a lifelong prevention approach against polio to be administered once to all children below the age of five.
He also explained that both IPV and Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) drops administered through the routine immunization system will complement polio eradication programme campaigns and boost the immunity of children against polio.
