While delivering the 104th inaugural lecture, the Dean of Faculty of Business Administration, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, Prof. Mrs. Justina Nnabuko lamented that substandard products as well as un-registered pharmaceutical drugs and products were still common in the South-East of Nigeria and that despite committed efforts by the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), some desperate business men still flood the country with fake products.

According to her, monitoring of pharmaceutical activities has not yielded the much-desired transparency in the activities of drug firms as drug assessments and registrations have not been effectively executed in the South-East zone of the country; many pharmaceutical facilities and drugs were yet to receive authentic registrations.
