The Aids Support Organization (TASO) Manager, Ms Madina Nakasi in Uganda has sad that many HIV/AIDS patients face starvation due to the lack of nutritious food required to keep the body strong after taking Anti Retro-viral drugs.

Ms Nakasi has also disclosed that the Food Aid Project from 2000 has stopped in 2006 after ARVs drugs were introduced saying there is evidence that nutritious food helps in boosting the immune system of people living with HIV/AIDS and a well balanced diet helps the body to build up cells destroyed by the disease.
