The Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado Ekiti, yesterday raised alarm over rising cases of abandoned corpses in its morgue and gave relations a one-week ultimatum to claim or lose them to a mass burial. The Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr Kolawole Ogundipe, said in a statement in Ado Ekiti that families of many of the corpses had not claimed them for a very long time, adding that such unclaimed bodies had taken up virtually all the few spaces in the mortuary, and asking relations to claim them within one week to avoid the planned mass burial.
