The World Health Organisation (WHO) says that everyone who has HIV should be offered antiretroviral drugs as soon as possible after diagnosis and those patients should not wait until the disease progresses. WHO has also recommended people at risk of HIV to be given the drugs to help prevent the infection taking hold.
Reacting to this latest policy, UNAIDS said these changes could help avert 21 million AIDS-related deaths and 28 million new infections by 2030.
Anti Retroviral drugs should be made available and accessible to all. People with AIDS related diseases in sub sahara Africa are finding it difficult to secure these drugs, especially in rural areas. Some of these people are unnecessarily dying because of the non existence of these drugs. The potentials for these people to survive is high ,but they are left isolated, though sitgmatization has reduced, without drugs coupled with poor dietary make their life miserable. The world should come to the aid of these people in compliance with SDG project.
