The chairman, Health and Managed Care Association of Nigeria, Dr. Kolawole Owoka has appealed to the Federal Government to stop the importation of generic drugs and rather urges the authorities to adopt policies from developed countries on the production of drugs to ensure that only quality drugs are available in the country.

He made the appeal during the launching of Zentiva by Sanofi Pharmaceuticals in Lagos,
He also advised the Federal Government to emulate Australia in the area of drug production where only four companies are allowed to produce drugs to ensure drug security in the country.
