Dr Kelechi Ogboji, a youth corp medic has died apparently from Lassa fever he contracted from a Lassa patient he treated.  A native of Igweledoha  Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi state, South east Nigeria, Dr. Ogboji was serving at St Louis Hospital in Zonkwa in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, North west Nigeria when he died.

A new study has revealed link between Zika virus and Guillain-Barre, a neurological syndrome.Researchers in French Polynesia and Europe have found out that 98 percent of the Guillain-Barre patients had anti-bodies related to Zika virus and 88 percent of patient had experienced typical symptoms of Zika virus infection usually about a week before developing Guillain-Barre.

Prof Paul Cosford of the Public Health England has advised pregnant women in England not to travel to areas with the Zika virus out-break saying that this virus might pose harm to babies in the womb.
