During a media briefing in Ilorin, capital of Kwara State, North central Nigeria on the sidelines of the ongoing nationwide strike of doctors, the immediate past President of the Association of Resident Doctors, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital branch, Dr. Oyinyola Oluwagbemiga and his successor, Dr. Ade Faponle, on Wednesday said that due to the epileptic power supply in the hospital, doctors have had to use lamps, torchlight and phone light to treat patients in the hospital and had lost three people in an attempt to stabilize the power supply.

Cholera outbreak hit Lusaka province, Zambia

The State Broadcaster reported on Wednesday that the Cholera cases in Lusaka, the Zambian capital have shot to about 226 cases despite assurances by the state authorities to put under control the water borne disease.
Cholera broke out last month in one of the sprawling shanty compounds in the Zambian capital with 20 cases and the water borne disease has spread to other part of the city.

Two members of a family from Koropara in the Southern region of N’zerekora, roughly 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) Southeast of Guinea’s capital, Conakry have died from Ebola in Guinea.
The two deceased patients were married couples who had both shown Ebola symptoms of vomiting and Diarrhea and the test samples from the patients revealed the presence of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever Virus.
