Of the ten patients recently admitted by the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa teaching hospital, Bauchi North east Nigeria for Lassa fever, nine have recovered and have been discharged, so says the official of the State Ministry of Health. The last patient will be discharged on the 26th of March 27, 2016.
The current outbreak of Lassa fever started in August 2015 in Niger State, North central Nigeria and has affected about 18 sates and the Federal caopital territory with over 50 percent mortality rate.
