The President of Nigerian Association of Nephrologists (NAN) Dr. Ebun Bamgboye has raised alarm over rising incidence of kidney disease among Nigerians, he said this on this year’s World Kidney Day during a screening exercise organized by St. Nicholas Hospital for schools in Lagos. He added that Nigeria has one of the largest burdens of kidney disease in the world.
Advising parents to take their children to the hospital immediately any abnormality is noticed rather than buying local herbs which can worsen the situation, he also appealled to the Federal Government to emulate the U.S. Government that spends $30 billion every year to look after kidney patients.
