Deputy Director, Nursing Service, Children Specialist Hospital, Igboro, Ilorin, North central Nigeria, Mrs. Titilayo Ajayi has said that the superiority of breast milk in terms of Nutrition and disease prevention supersedes drugs.
Extended breastfeeding is not only beneficial to babies and nursing mothers but also to women inlater years as it lowers the risk of many illnesses.
She further explained that breastfeeding reduces the risk of Ovarian and Breast cancer and breastfeeding women also have a lower incidence of Osteoporosis in later life.
