The Medical Director, Genesis Hospital Ikeja, Dr. Roger Olade, has raised alarm on the over 320 billion naira spent by Nigerians on surgeries and treatment in foreign countries in 2014; he said that his colleagues abroad are willing to practice in Nigeria, but refuse to come because of the poor facilities in the nation’s hospitals.

According to him, instead of encouraging doctors in the country, the Federal Government is frustrating them by not allowing them to clear medical equipment at the ports, knowing fully well that the equipment are not for sale but to save lives.

Dr. Olade said this at the inauguration of the hospital in Lagos recently.
