High fever; major cause of convulsion in children, says Pediatrician.

An Abuja based pediatrician, Dr. Hassana Abdullahi, has identified high fever as the major cause of convulsion in children.

According to her, there are different manifestations of convulsion, it may involve the whole body or partial, involving some parts of the body; also seizures could be due to other factors in our environment such as malaria, meningitis and encephalitis among others.

She advised enjoined parents to tepid sponge children with high fever to bring down the fever in order to avert convulsion and report immediately to their doctor.
