As part of the celebration of the 2016 World Oral Health Day, one of the brands of Unilever Nig. Plc, PEPSODENT will partner with the Nigeria Dental Association and the Federal Ministry of Health to execute a 21 day behavioural change programme tagged Oral Health School Programme; one Unilever’s global oral care social missions.

The programme was initiated in 2014 in Nigeria and involves educating children to brush morning and evening with with fluoride toothpaste, about 1.8 million Nigerian children were reached hat year and the target this year is another 1 million Nigerian children.

To flag off the 2016 campaign, the Vice President, Brand Building, Unilever Nigeria Plc, Mr.Robert de-Vreede held a press briefing in Lagos recently to re-emphasise the importance of oral health. According to him, about 90 percent of the world’s population suffers from oral diseases and that the the Uniliver’s Global Oral Care Programme is meant to reach 100 million children world wide by 2020. The target for Nigeria by 2020 is 10 million children.

The slogan for this year’s World Oral Health Day celebration is “Brush day and night, Healthy mouth, Healthy body”.
