While speaking to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, says he will provide an 11-dayfree medical service to the poor across the 20 local government areas in Bauchi, Bauchi State.
He said that the programme, which would be through the Doctors on the ‘’Move Africa’’ a Non-Government organization (NGO) would assist the vulnerable and less privileged in the society in accessing health care services, he also said that the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital(ATBU-TH) would be used as centre for the exercise.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Medical Advisory committee (C-MAC) of the ATBU-TH, Dr. Said Kadas, applauded the initiative of the speaker, adding that it will go a long way in solving health issues in the state.
He said apart from this medical outreach, the foundation also supports schools and encourage study of medicine, especially among the female students.
