A medical officer confirmed the fire outbreak that tore through the surgical unit of Medina Hospital, the biggest medical centre in Mogadishu, the Somali capital.
The Medina Hospital Director, Dr. Mohammed Yusuf said that an intense blaze that appeared have severely damaged the Operating Room (OR) and medical equipments in the building but fire fighters managed to contain the blaze and all patients and medical staff members of the hospital were safe after the fire tragedy.The new Mayor of Mogadishu paid a visit to the hospital to evaluate the scale of the fire outbreak and said the security forces will launch a probe into the cause once the fire is fully extinguished.
