Foreign investors to build $1 billion pharmaceutical facility in Ogun FTZ

The Ogun State Government, South west Nigeria and Shaaxi Pharmaceutical Industry Company limited of China last week signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of a $1 billion hi-tech pharmaceutical park, drug manufacturing facilities, health centres and hospitals on a 1,000 hectares of land located in Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone.

In a lecture titled, ‘Development of Medical Education: Prospects and Challenges’, delivered at the Maiden matriculation and inauguration of the University of Medical Science Ondo, Ondo State, South west Nigeria, the Executive Secretary, Prof. Julius Okojie of the National University Commission (NUC) who was represented by the Deputy Executive secretary, Prof. Chiedu Mafiana, declared that any student who wants to study medicine will henceforth spend a minimum of 10 years in the university in order to enable them mature psychologically for the profession.
